Multilateral has been in William’ stable for six weeks after his owners sent the eight-year-old to Warrnambool for training at the beach to prepare for a jumping career.
"I think Multilateral was just sick of stable life in the city,” he said.
“We've given him a couple of trials over the jumps and he's improved each time.
“We've been doing a lot of beach and dune work with him. He seems to be thriving on that sort of a preparation.”
Williams has earmarked Multilateral for a jumps debut at Bendigo on August 16.
Mango Mojito is run for Warrnambool trainer Jarrod McLean in the $135,000 Palmerston Sprint at Darwin on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Warrnambool trainer Symon Wilde faces a stewards inquiry into a prohibited substance detected in a sample from his mare Hello My Dear after a race at Edenhope in June.
Racing Analytical Services Limited (RASL) has confirmed to Racing Victoria stewards the sample contained Ibuprofen (a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory) which is a prohibited substance in accordance with the Australian Rules of Racing.
The report relates to a post-race urine sample taken from Hello My Dear after winning the Naracoorte Hotel 0-58 Handicap over 2000 metres at Edenhope Racecourse on June 7.
Wilde is assisting stewards with investigations.
