Pressing matters will include securing a top three position and keeping finals hopes alive. Timboon Demons has lost its last three games to tumble all the way down to sixth spot on the ladder.
But despite this fall from grace, the home side is still in the finals hunt, just percentage away from fifth-placed Merrivale. Kolora-Noorat is also coming off a loss, going down to Old Collegians by eight goals. The loss has the Power in third spot, six points clear of an Allansford team that is gaining momentum.
Kolora-Noorat coach Glenice Justin said her team will go into the clash with the Demons with confidence high.
“Even though we lost against Old Collegians I was pleased with how we played,” Justin said.
“We played some really good passages and at times we were in control, we were in front briefly which is the first time we have done that against old Collegians for a long time. Having seen the best team up close we know that we have some improvement to do but we also took away a lot of confidence we can draw on for this week and going forward.”
While ladder positions have the Power going into the game as favourites, the last time the two teams met it was the Demons who won by three goals. The Power will be looking for big games from Faye Clarke in centre and goal shooting duo Penny Smith and Linda Clifford to turn the result around.
In other round 16 matches Russells Creek will host an ambitious Allansford team. While the Kangaroos finals hopes are gone, the Cats have won their last two games and are hungry for more as they strive to push up towards the top three. Nirranda can keep its finals dream alive when it takes on Deakin University while Old Collegians should be too good for East Warrnambool. The one game that has no bearing on finals jockeying is Panmure versus South Rovers at Panmure.
