Carter said Warrnambool, eyeing a week off come finals, was building form and momentum at the right time of the season. The Blues host Hamilton Kangaroos at Reid Oval on Saturday.
“We need to keep winning and winning well because we know Koroit will come home hard,” Carter said.
“In the last four weeks with the games they have they’ll start warm favourites and we have a slightly harder run home.”
Carter is rapt with the Blues’ defensive edge, citing the pressure for their heavy goal-kicking. They’ve kicked 59 goals in their past three games.
A serious ankle injury has ended reliable defender Sam Wilson’s season. Wilson hurt his ankle twice this year – the latest setback ruling him out of the Blues’ premiership tilt.
“He’s just about ripped every ligament off the bone,” Carter said.
