The authority on Thursday assured Penshurst residents about the quality of water supplies after it emerged groundwater at the town’s Country Fire Authority training site showed elevated levels of perfluorinated chemicals. 

The CFA advised the Environment Protection Authority the contamination presented a low-level risk to the community. Wannon Water said it was confident its supplies had not been contaminated.
