The five one-hour episodes will air over consecutive nights from September 6, in the lead up to the cinematic release of the movie, which was partially shot around Warrnambool, on September 17.
The documentaries tell the story of the ground breaking Middle Island Maremma project which serves as the inspiration for the movie.
The movie, staring Shane Jacobson as chicken farmer Swampy Marsh, will premier in Warrnambool on September 13.
