There were more than 50 entries from the south-west, as well as Ballarat and Bendigo, with breeds including Cocker Spaniel, Border Collie, Lagotto, Kelpie, Rottweiler and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Warrnambool Dog Training School trial secretary Melisa Champness said about half the entries were local club members.
“It’s the only rally trial we run so people really enjoyed it,” Ms Champness said.
“We also ran a small training session for up-and-coming triallists to encourage them to join the trial next time.
“There was a lovely atmosphere on the ground all day. It’s great for people not used to the big events.”
