The Saints made the most of a home court advantage to upset a strong Terang Mortlake line-up 39-38. 

The Bloods took a two goal lead into the final quarter but it wasn’t enough as Koroit proved unstoppable to come home with a flourish and steal the win.

Teagan Lang shot 23 goals for the Saints in a best-on-court performance at goal attack. 

Koroit co-coach Kasey Owen said her team played an inspired last quarter.

“We threw a lot of balls away early that we shouldn’t have which put us behind,” Owen said.

“But in the last quarter everyone really stood up, our voice and pressure was amazing and the work rate was 100 per cent.

“It was a real team effort although Teagan Lang did stand out, she was brilliant and Megan Russell made a lot of important intercepts at goal keeper.” 

Terang Mortlake coach Aimee Arundell said the Bloods were an on the losing end of a tough battle.

“We knew it was going to be a tough game, Koroit have been playing some good netball,” Arundell said.

“It was really tight and we turned the ball over a a few times at the end which cost us. To Koroit’s credit they put a lot of pressure on and that did cause us to lose the ball a few times in the last quarter.”
