Will Couch (seven goals) and Michael Darmody (four) were influential in the 21.14 (140) to 7.9 (51) victory at Victoria Park.
Dowie said the pair, who crossed from Warrnambool and North Warrnambool Eagles respectively in the pre-season, had adjusted to the Saints’ game plan.
“Butler (Darmody) has been improving all the time, and the same with Couch,” he said.
“They kicked the ball to each other pretty well today.
“I am really happy for those two guys. It’s the best thing that has come out of the past month of footy.”
Dowie was pleased with Koroit’s ball movement and marking inside 50 against Terang Mortlake.
