Urquhart leads a strong contingent of seven Hampden league players selected in the North Ballarat Rebels team to take on the Western Jets.
Koroit trio Willem Drew, Jarrod Korewha and Nick Haulser, South Warrnambool’s Shannon Beks and Charlie Lee and Warrnambool's Luke McLeod will join Urquhart in the Rebels’ line-up.
Urquhart is a bottom-age player who has shone at club level, playing the last six games for the Eagles’ senior team.
North Ballarat Rebels coach David Loader said he is looking forward to seeing Urquhart test himself at the elite junior level.
"The big thing for us with Zac is his commitment to training," Loader said.
"Early in the year he was a bit up and down but as the season has gone on he has realised the amount of work needed to play at this level.”
Loader said the Rebels would put Urquhart's height and pace to good use with his role likely to be as an outside midfielder and half forward.
The Rebels will start hot favourites for Saturday’s game against the Western Jets at Eureka Stadium.
After 11 rounds the Jets are anchored on the bottom of the ladder with just one win while the Rebels 9-1 record has them on top.
The high number of Hampden players in the Rebels line-up indicates a close eye is being kept on the league.
"We get a lot of feedback on how the boys are going, we have guys like Chris McLaren at Koroit and Nigel Kol at South Warrnambool,” Loader said.
"Having great football people like that on the ground means we have sets of eyes at a local level that are looking at the game through TAC Cup goggles.
“Zac Urquhart is a good example of this, we have been getting really good reports on how he is progressing and that has helped give him this opportunity at TAC Cup level.”
Of the Hampden players on the Rebels list, Koroit ruckman Haulser and Portland onballer Tom Templeton have played the most games with 10 each.
Templeton will take another step in his football development on Sunday when he makes his debut for North Ballarat Roosters VFL team. He will join fellow Portland rising star, ruckman Rowan Marshall, in the Roosters line-up.
Marshall started the season playing for Sebastopol in the Ballarat Football League where his dominant form had him selected in the leagues representative team.
He has played the last three games for the Roosters, winning a call-up after an injury to number one ruckman Orren Stephenson.
Marshall will be the Roosters starting ruckman for Sunday’s game against Richmond Tigers while Templeton will start on interchange.
Former Terang Mortlake player Nick Couch is an emergency as he takes another step on the comeback from a knee injury.
