The Secret Life Of Us star was in Portland to star in the play Sex With Strangers and stopped in at the library to talk about the Love Your Sister charity and show off his unicycle skills.
About 120 people attended the sold-out event, which was part of the Glenelg Talks series.
The $1500 will go to the Garvan Institute to help continue the search for a breast cancer cure.
