That seems to have been the approach of Tour of The Great South Coast organisers when planning the 2015 event.
Course details for the fourth edition of the tour were released on Monday and show the five day event will follow an identical program to last year.
The tour, the fifth event on the 2015 National Road Series, will begin across the border in Mount Gambier on Wednesday August 12 and wrap up in Port Fairy on Sunday August 16
Day one will start with 30 laps of a CBD circuit, followed by a road race around the city’s famous Blue Lake.
Day two on Thursday is a challenging 136.9-kilometre road race from Mount Gambier to Port MacDonnell, via Carpenter Rocks, Pelican Point, Blackfellows Caves, Kongorong, Blue Lake Golf Links, Donovans, Brown Bay, Riddock Bay, Race Course Bay.
The tour moves to Victoria on day three, with a Portland foreshore criterium on Friday morning and a 92.9-kilometre road race from Heywood to Casterton via Hotspur, Digby, Merino, Paschendale, Henty, and Sandford, in the afternoon.
Action moves to Koroit on Saturday for day four with a fast paced criterium. A 104-kilometre road race will depart the town for Peterborough later in the afternoon, travelling via Allansford, Mepunga West, Mepunga East, Nullawarre, Nirranda, Nirranda South, Bay of Martyrs, Peterborough, London Bridge, Port Campbell, Newfield and Lower Heytesbury.
The tour wraps up in Port Fairy on August 16 with a waterfront criterium.
A strong field is expect to register for the tour, the first on the National series after an almost three month winter break.
Entries close on August 2.
