Lyndoch residents and knitting group members Anne Gibbs and Lynette Bruce made poppies with the support of nurse Jessie Paton, and presented the proceeds to Warrnambool RSL president John Miles on Wednesday.
Mr Miles thanked them for their efforts and said the almost $200 raised would help return service men and women and their families.
“All funds donated go into welfare, such as repairs in the home and transport to appointments. We are finding that with our welfare side of things, we are getting busier and busier every day, so all donations are greatly appreciated.”
Lyndoch Living lifestyle facilitator Agnes McLaren said the residents wanted to give back to the community and it was a lovely project the ladies had initiated.
