Russells Creek’s Liam Brown, Mortlake’s Lachie Wareham and Grampians’ Daniel Kerber are among 33 players invited to trial for selection.
The trio start a five-session winter training program tomorrow, with trial games in mid-August.
Selectors will then cut the squad before national titles from September 28.
“The trial squad will (mean) the state’s most talented under 17 cricketers have the opportunity to develop their skills over the pre-season at the MCG while staking their claim for state selection,” Cricket Victoria high performance academy head coach Jarrad Loughman said.
“A number of changes were made to the national underage pathway program for the 2015-16 season, including the presence of a Victorian Metro and Victorian Country team at the under 17 and 19 national tournaments.”
