In the western suburbs of Melbourne this week, nurse Sam Read took another of her health classes for at-risk teenagers. Back in the 80s the west was dubbed the "pleurisy plains", heavy with industry and pollution. Now the huge western region of Wyndham is the fastest growing but also sickest place in the state.
