The Anglican church is preparing for its first secondhand book fair to raise funds to be put back into the parish.
Parish priest Geoffrey Humble said a colleague ran a similar style event in Drysdale and an annual book fair in Hamilton was “a big deal”.
“Book fairs are becoming quite popular and we hope ours will be well supported,” he said.
“All the books have been donated by the parish community and it’s a good opportunity for us to raise some money.”
He said there were hundreds of books in a wide range of varieties.
“There are cookery books, novels, books about animals, children’s books and more.”
“It’s quite a wide range.”
The fair will run from 9am and 4pm both days. A cake stall, Devonshire teas and refreshments will also be available.
