A NEW batch of promising teenage cricketers will refine their skills via the Warrnambool and District Cricket Association junior development program.

The program, which was launched in 2011, has inducted 26 fresh faces for the 2015-16 season based on performances from the previous summer.
This season it will be divided into three sectors — Western Waves’ under 16 selectees, Western Waves’ under 14 selectees, and junior development player selectees. Training sessions will start on August 2 at Norm Garner’s Indoor Cricket Centre and continue until the start of the junior cricket season in October.
The Western Waves’ under 16s and older WDCA players in this age bracket will train on alternate Sundays to the Western Waves’ under 14s group and the younger WDCA players.
The WDCA Western Waves’ under 16 nominees are: Thomas Jackson, Jacob Pope, Brody Couch, Wil Fleming, Alex Jennings, Dominic Bandara, Nick Robertson, Jed Henderson, Bailey Brooks, Damon Cooper, Sam Alberts, Ben Annett, Jackson Couch and Jacob Brooks with John Houston as coach.
The WDCA Western Waves’ under 14 nominees are: Bailey Jenkinson, Campbell Love, Charlie Blacker, Jack Block, Damon Dews, Liam Burgess, Theo Opperman and Joe Nyikos. South West league duo Isaac Wareham (Mortlake) and Ben Atkins (Camperdown) have also been included in the squad which will be mentored by Gordon McLeod.

For coaching purposes, this group will be divided into older and younger age levels.
