Two people have been taken to hospital after an attack outside a bar in Melbourne's north.

Police were called to Sydney Road in Brunswick, outside The Penny Black, just after 9pm on Sunday night.
A witness told The Age two men were hit, both whacking their heads on the concrete as they fell.
The men, both aged in their 20s, sustained injuries to their upper bodies, an Ambulance Victoria spokesman said.
They were taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition.
Police confirmed they were investigating an assault outside a licensed premises.
A police spokeswoman said it was believed one man struck both victims, causing them to fall to the ground.
