The Hurricanes will face Hamilton Boomers and Wimmera Whippets in an all-abilities showcase at Reid Oval.
The round-robin is a curtain-raiser to the Hampden versus Murray senior match.
Hurricanes organisers Jacob Rhodes, Bernie Harris and Daniel Hayes will oversee their two 15-minute games.
Rhodes said the team started training last week and was excited for its first hit-out of 2015.
“We had 25 on the track, so that was pretty good,” he said.
“They’re all ready to go. They’re champing at the bit.”
The Boomers formed last year and the Whippets are a new combination.
Rhodes said it was pleasing to have more south-west competition emerge.
“It’ll be good because over the next few years we’ve play each other a fair few times,” he said.
The Hurricanes have a number of games scheduled.
They will play Melbourne-based side Wyndham at Mack Oval on June 7, the Boomers at half-time of the Hamilton Kangaroos-South Warrnambool fixture at Melville Oval on June 20 and again in the corresponding game at Friendly Societies’ Park on August 29.
There are two exhibition matches pencilled in as well, during the Terang Mortlake-Portland match on August 1 and on Hampden preliminary final day.
Rhodes is also hoping to organise another game in July.
Tomorrow’s round-robin starts at noon.
