Detective Senior Constable Wayne Ryan, of the Warrnambool police crime investigation unit, said there had been eight commercial burglaries in the west Warrnambool/industrial estate area during the past couple of months.
“We would like to warn business operators in the area to take every precaution to secure their premises and to ensure cash and valuables are not accessible,” he said.
The burglaries have been committed on bus lines, plumbing supply businesses, tyre outlets, party hire businesses and agriculture outlets in the west Warrnambool area.
Cash and items of value have been taken.
Detective Senior Constable Ryan said police had stepped up overnight patrols in the area in a bid to curb the burglaries.
“Anyone with information about the break-ins is requested to contact the Warrnambool CIU or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000,” he said.
