The Mercy Regional College student has earned selection in a 25-member squad to contest the 15 and under titles at Geelong from July 18 to 25.
He follows in the footsteps of another Blood, Jake Crawley, who played for Victorian schoolboy sides in 2009 and 2012.
Scott, 15, attracted attention with his efforts in three trials in Melbourne in the past month.
He said he was pleased but surprised to earn selection.
“I thought I did all right but I didn’t know if I would make the team or not. It was hard to say,” Scott said.
“I didn’t know what they were looking for and there were a lot of kids to pick from. I thought it was a real good achievement.”
Scott credited his mate Paddy Smith with making him aware of the trials: “he said we should go down and do it … I was lucky enough to get in”.
He played in midfield and defence during three sessions and anticipated filling a similar role at the championships. Victoria is the defending champion.
“I reckon we’ll be able to (defend the title) but I don’t really know all the players in the team. We should have an all right team,” he said.
Scott, a Collingwood fan, highlighted Hawthorn skipper Luke Hodge and Adelaide speedster Patrick Dangerfield as players he enjoyed watching.
He listed Bloods under 16 coach Nick Moloney and under 18 mentor Shane Quick as influences on his career, along with senior coach Matt Irving.
“I haven’t had (Irving) as a coach but I did the Bloods academy with him. He was the coach there. I found him really good,” Scott said.
Meanwhile, three Warrnambool footballers remain in contention for selection in the Victorian 12 and under squad, also bound for Geelong in July.
Archie Stevens, Paddy O’Sullivan and Harrison Kilpatrick progressed from the first trial session in Ballarat on the weekend.
They head to Melbourne on Sunday for a second trial, involving players from country Victoria. Final trials are on May 23 and 24.
