A SPEED map indicates there is going to be major trouble in the $45,000-to-win Warrnambool Cup (450m) when greyhounds hit the first turn tonight.

The Jason Thompson-trained Gracas King clocked the fastest first section of 6.43 seconds in last Wednesday’s eight heats.
That puts the black speedster about two lengths ahead of the field, but there’s only a length between the next five greyhounds.
Either there will be a huge scrimmage, with Gracas King gifted the Warrnambool Cup, or one of a host of contenders will slip through and be in a position to run down the early leader in the home straight.
Thompson said on exposed form, Gracas King had a great chance of leading.
“On those sectionals he will be up there. He’s definitely got to lead to win. It’s his first time in a group race and against open class dogs,” he said.
Thompson, who has previously won four Warrnambool Cups, said he had been impressed by the form of another youngster in the final, Kelly Bravo’s Kayda Shae.
