The Cats remain unbeaten on top of the Warrnambool and District league ladder after outclassing Russells Creek in the wet at Allansford Recreation Reserve.
Centre half-forward Brenton Webster again impressed, kicking five goals, while Xavier Mills booted four to be best-afield in the 19.15 (129) to 0.2 (2) win.
Parkinson was pleased his men could pull away after battling to adjust to the wet conditions early.
They booted 9.5 to 0.1 during a wind-assisted third term.
“We played OK. It took us a while to adjust but we haven’t even trained in the wet.
“We haven’t had the opportunity to do that,” he said.
“It always takes a bit to adjust and we probably took a little bit long.
“Once we started to do the simple things — gain as much metreage as you can, make sure you’re in front — we certainly started to get on top of them.
“We might’ve kicked nine goals in the third quarter with the wind and ran away with it.”
But Parkinson conceded tougher tasks lay ahead. The Cats play Timboon Demons, Kolora-Noorat, Old Collegians and Nirranda before the interleague break.
“We know we’ve got a hell of a lot of work to do and a hell of a lot more challenges to come.
“We can only play who is put in front of us in the draw,” he said.
Onballers Nick Johnstone, Leatham Robe and Justin Fedley were also among the Cats’ best players.
Brett Hunger and Dave Pullen, who twisted a knee and took no further part after half-time, were their other multiple goalkickers.
“Mills was pretty outstanding, running around like it was a dry day,” Parkinson said.
The Kangaroos named Daniel Lumsden, Nathan Williams and Marcus Askew their best players.
A home match against Nirranda awaits this Sunday.
Elsewhere, Old Collegians improved their record to 2-1 thanks to a comfortable 11.16 (82) to 1.8 (14) win against East Warrnambool at Davidson Oval.
Chris Chambers kicked three goals and Jack Dunkley was the Warriors’ best player, with the win taking them to sixth on the ladder.
And Nirranda spearhead Rick Spokes moved to the top of the goalkicking chart with 14 after slotting seven in a big win against Deakin University.
The Blues won 26.20 (176) to 1.3 (9), kicking clear with 23 goals to none after a competitive start by the undermanned Sharks.
John Paulin and Peter McDowall were also key contributors.
