The mother of a young man made the horrific discovery of his body and the body of his friend, both with substantial injuries, at a home the three shared in Geelong.

The two men, aged 23 and 30, were found dead in a bedroom at the rear of a home in Thatcher Court, Whittington, by the mother of the older of two, at about 10.20am on Wednesday morning.
Local detectives said the housemates had suffered what appeared to be stab wounds to their hands, arms and upper bodies.
Homicide detectives have not yet ruled out a murder-suicide and are treating both deaths as potential homicides while they await the results of forensic testing.
Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Sol Solomon, from the homicide squad, said both men had substantial injuries but it was too early to speculate on what may have caused their deaths.
Detectives are investigating several potential scenarios, including that a fight might have led to the deaths but have not ruled out the possibility a third person may have been involved, he said.
"It's way too early to be speculating as to whether their was a third party involved," he said. "We have no information to say that is a fact so there's no need for any fears or alarm."
Acting Senior Sergeant Solomon said it was unclear whether the fatal incident happened overnight or on Wednesday morning.
Crime scene experts were scouring the home on Wednesday afternoon.
"Until we have a thorough crime scene examination and a post mortem examination to know exactly what the cause of death is, or if there was a fight or some form of physical interaction between the males, it's just way to soon," he said.
The men were friends and had been living at the house together with one of their mothers, he said. The mother had been home last night but went out to run an errand in the morning and discovered the bodies when she returned about 10.20am.
A murder weapon has not been recovered from the scene.
Neighbours reported hearing sounds on the street last night and one man heard screams coming form the house on Wednesday morning, believed to have been those of the mother when she returned home.
Locals, many of them young mothers pushing strollers, gathered at a police cordon on the intersection of Thatcher Court and Oxford Street in disbelief.
"It's usually a pretty quiet street, a lot of elderly people live here," said Oxford Street resident Ashlee Vipont. "I'll definitely be locking my doors."
