McKenna, 29, was excited with the victory of Cruise Street over Duaneo and Bel Witness at her debut in the $15,000 race.
“It was a great effort by Cruise Street,” McKenna said.
“She jumped really well but was slow out in a trial the other day.
“She travelled well in the run I was worried her condition may give out over the final stages but she hit the line well,” McKenna said.
“It’s great to get a win with her as she’s raced by a group of locals.
“Cruise Street’s mum Plush Manor was a handy galloper.
“She won a race at the Warrnambool May carnival.
“It would be tremendous if Cruise Street could follow in the footsteps of her mum.”
McKenna and his brother Patrick have eight horses in work between them at their Tower Hill stables.
Lightly-raced Clifton Park, a new acquisition to Jarrod McLean’s Warrnambool stable scored an impressive win in a benchmark 58 race over 1400 metres.
Clifton Park, which was formerly trained by Patrick Payne at Plumpton west of Melbourne, has only been in McLean’s stable for two months.
Top jockey Brad Rawiller took the riding honours, winning two races on the eight-race program.
Rawiller was successful on Kracken in a maiden plate over 1200 metres while Mitzi Del Bra won a benchmark 64 race over 1000 metres.
