Showers and strong winds have been forecast in Warrnambool until Friday afternoon, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
There is chance of a thunderstorm and hail in the morning and early afternoon, followed by winds westerly 30 to 40 km/h turning southwesterly 40 to 50 km/h in the middle of the day, then decreasing to 30 to 35 km/h in the late evening.
Sheep graziers are also warned that cold temperatures, showers and strong westerly winds are expected on Wednesday night, with a high health risk to lambs exposed to the conditions.
The State Emergency Service advises people should move vehicles under cover or away from trees, secure or put away loose items around the house, and keep clear of fallen power lines.
