Brown shot 181 targets out of 200 to beat fellow visitor Damian Birgin by one in the men’s open section.
Daylesford’s Renae Birgin backed up her 2014 women’s open win, shooting 164/200 to take out the title.
Geelong’s Adam Shale (164/200) was named junior champion.
Byaduk’s Ron Rhook collected veterans’ honours and Melbourne’s Warrick Cumberland was crowned super veterans winner.
The winners were among 170 shooters to take part in the two-day tournament.
Sporting Shooters Association of Australia Laang range president Steve Chilton said the open men’s section went down to the wire.
“Chris had a three or four-shot target lead after Saturday but lost a couple on Sunday,” he said. “It was pretty close and 180 to 190 is the usual winning score.
“Saturday being windy made it a bit tougher. Sunday was a much better day.”
Chilton said Brown knew the Laang complex well.
“He shoots at Laang’s monthly shoots, so we treat him as a local,” he said.
Chilton said the event went smoothly and had enormous support from volunteers.
