A MAN has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car in Richmond.
Police believe he was crossing Punt Road at traffic lights near Bridge Road when he was struck by a vehicle travelling north just before 9pm.
The man, believed to be in his 20s, was taken to The Alfred hospital with serious head injuries.
The driver, a Templestowe man, was not injured and has been assisting police.
