SHUTTING down South Warrnambool's attack is North Warrnambool Eagles' main aim tomorrow.
Eagles coach Sharon Kenna said strong defence would give her side the edge in its Hampden A grade elimination final against the Roosters.
"Their attack line is pretty potent," she said.
"Leah Kermeen is a really good ball mover and feeds really well into Eliza (Dwyer). We need to shut them down in the centre and not let them feed into Eliza."
South has won two of three games against North this season, with little separating the sides .
The Roosters won in round two 46-42, the Eagles in round nine 42-40 and the Roosters bounced back in round 16, 46-43.
"We are pretty positive," Kenna said. "We have had really close games all three times and we know if we play to the best of our ability that we have a chance."
South Warrnambool coach Gill Herrmann expects that close form line to continue.
"We are not looking at it as South versus North. It's just a finals game which has to be won," she said. "We had a really good training session and everyone is upbeat, keen and ready. Sometimes you can be apprehensive about finals but the girls are keen because of (their form) in the past six weeks.
"South A graders have played finals in the past two years. There are a couple of younger girls in Mikayla Gleeson and Ruby Wilson who haven't been part of senior finals. I don't think they will be overawed by it."
The Eagles have made one change to their line-up: Australian under 17 basketballer Annie Blackburn will come in for sister Laura, who is unavailable. South will go in unchanged.
