PROMISING Warrnambool mare Tycoon Tara is capable of winning back-to-back black type races when she runs in the $150,000 group 3 Mannerism Stakes at Caulfield today, according to trainer Symon Wilde.

Tycoon Tara scored an emphatic victory in the $150,000 group 3 Bellmaine Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield a fortnight ago and Wilde believes she’s improved since her first black type race win.
“I can’t fault her. Tycoon Tara is in great order,” he said.
“Each time we have raised the bar she has jumped it and I’m confident she’ll do the same today. I reckon she’s fitter this week than what she was when she won the Bellmaine Stakes.
“I’m really excited about Tycoon Tara. She has met every challenge so far. I think she’ll be improved by this campaign.”
Tycoon Tara jumps three kilograms in weight and 200 metres in distance for today’s 1400m race from her previous win but Wilde is unperturbed.
“She has not put a foot wrong. She’s won three of her five starts in this campaign and with any luck she could have been five from five this time in work,” he said. “She’s a big strong mare who can lead or run on the pace. I’m confident she’ll run out a strong 1400 metres.
“She’s won over 1300 metres in easier class.”
Wilde will decide after today’s race which path Tycoon Tara heads down for her next outing but he is not discounting a start in the $600,000 group 1 Coolmore Classic at Rosehill on March 14.
“We’re just taking her along slowly but I suppose if she happened to win easily today we would have to look at a race like the Coolmore Classic,” he said.
“She’s done an amazing job since winning a restricted race at Dunkeld back in November.
“Her first group win in the Bellmaine increased her value as a broodmare. If she happened to win today her value would increase significantly again.”
Tycoon Tara has won more than $186,000 in stakemoney from her nine starts.
