The cycling event planned for March 15 is designed for all ages and abilities and has been created for the south-west community, with 100 per cent of entry fees going directly to Warrnambool and District Food Share.
It will offer a 10-kilometre ride through the centre of town and a timed 20-kilometre event for more serious riders. The Lake Pertobe finish line will be a “community festival” with carnival style rides, face painting, market stalls and a barbecue.
Powercor regional business manager Nick Rees urged people to register for the event saying it would help Food Share with the enormous cost of relocating from its Raglan Parade site.
“We are pleased to be in a position to donate 100 per cent of entry fees to Warrnambool and District Food Share,” Mr Rees said.
“We hope the Tour de Depot will excite the local community and assist a great organisation in providing meals for the most vulnerable living in the area.”
Entry fees for the event are $10 for children and students, $20 for adults and $50 for a family of four.
Once registered, participants can have their own page on charity fund-raising website GoFundraise to raise extra cash for Food Share.
