POLICE have expressed concern after two guns were stolen from a rural shed in west Portland on Wednesday.

Detective Sergeant Steve Brown, of the Portland crime investigation unit, said the break-in happened between 6.30am and 5pm at a property on Atwells Road. He said offenders had bent up cladding to gain entry to a shed on the rural property, then located a key and opened a gun safe, taking a .22 calibre air rifle and .222 rifle.
Offenders also broke into the St Stephen’s Anglican Church in Julia Street, Portland, at the weekend.
A glass panel was kicked in to gain entry some time between Saturday and Monday.
It is not believed anything was stolen, although significant damage was caused. Portland police are also reviewing security camera footage after four baseball caps were stolen from the Caltex service station in Percy Street between 1pm and 2pm on Wednesday.
Young offenders are suspected to have stolen the , valued at $68.
Detective Sergeant Brown said police were still looking for a black 2004 Holden Commodore sedan — registration SQA-034 — stolen during an armed robbery at Heathmere on Tuesday night.
A Warrnambool man, 25, was bashed with a sawn-off shotgun and had his car stolen at a property in Flowers Road, Heathmere, about 8.30pm. He suffered minor injuries.
