The revived four-week series starts next Wednesday at 7pm and uses a closed circuit incorporating Robson, Cooper and Dickson streets.
Organisers will divide riders into four grades depending on ability. A grade races will run for half-an-hour plus two laps.
B, C and D grades will run for 20 minutes plus two laps. Juniors will ride in D grade unless there are sufficient numbers to race on their own.
Warrnambool Cycling Club president Barry Warren said the series was a way of encouraging people to jump on their bikes.
“It’s the first time for a number of years we’ve done it. We’re excited about it,” he said. “We’re really looking forward to good support from riders across the district.”
Warren said the circuit was “flat and quick”.
Prizemoney is up for grabs in each grade.
“The cycling club has struggled for a couple of years. We thought we’d try this approach,” he said.
“As the road season gets on, we’ll be running regular races for seniors and juniors during the year.”
