Will McGinley used his local knowledge to navigate the Lake Gillear track on his way to the B grade open title on Sunday.
His clubmates Hugh Roache and Jett Bell also won their classes.
Roache took out the 85 big wheel C grade title and Bell the 85 small wheel C grade crown.
They were among 12 Shipwreck Coast members to earn podium finishes at the annual event.
Allister Kent, of Colac, won the senior A grade. Club president Alan Primmer said he was proud of the Shipwreck Coast members’ efforts.
“All the local riders rode well. even those who didn’t expect to win rode above themselves,” he said.
Primmer said entry numbers surpassed expectations.
The open attracted 240 riders, predominantly from around Victoria
“It was a bit above normal,” he said.
“We normally have 200.”
Primmer said the event, barring one minor incident, was a success.
He said the weather was, for the most part, kind to riders.
“The track was a little wet this morning but it came good,” he said.
“We had a few little delays but the afternoon went quickly.”
