The Brett Hunger-led side, which sits second, wants to steer clear of fourth place and a semi-final meeting against the Cats.
Hunger said Terang’s 73-run win against the Bulls — a grand finalist the past two seasons — “sets us up going forward”.
“For us it is really important to keep winning in the lead-up to finals and it’s common knowledge that no one wants to finish fourth and play Mortlake in the first week,” he said.
Pomborneit resumed at 0-14 chasing 165 on Saturday but soon found itself on the back foot.
Hunger dismissed Matt Bignall with the third ball of the day and from there the Bulls struggled to gain momentum.
“It was a really slow outfield at Pombo and I was really happy with how we batted last week and we set a score I thought we could defend,” Hunger said.
“We just had to bowl sensibly.
“Wickets fell pretty regularly which was handy. We were lucky to get Spud (Dave Murphy) out.
“Tim Keane ran him out. Darcy Skene hit the ball straight back and it went off Keane’s hand.
“It was a bit lucky but important and right at the end young Tyson Hay got four wickets off 10 balls.”
In other games, Mortlake chalked up another win with a strong batting display against fellow finals-bound outfit Bookaar.
The Cats overcame the Pelicans’ 117 with eight wickets in hand.
Neil Kelly (82), Josh Barr (48) and Tyler Schafer (43) all contributed to Mortlake’s 334.
Bookaar posted 3-24 in its second dig.
Cobden produced a 90-run win against Heytesbury Rebels.
Jackson Rock took 4-18 as the Rebels were kept to 144 chasing 8-234. A second innings reaped Cobden 3-57.
Noorat secured an outright win against Simpson on day one.
