Enthusiasts from across Victoria have tuned and polished their rigs for the weekend, which will culminate in an open invitation show at Southcombe Park where up to 500 vehicles are expected.
More than 120 dedicated hot rodders will register tonight before tomorrow’s program of a run around district roads and an evening rock ’n’ roll dance.
They will be joined on Sunday by hundreds of other drivers keen to show off their machines.
In the midst of the action will be South West Street Rodders president Neville Field, who helped form the club.
“The event is getting bigger and bigger,” he said.
“It’s a family thing — children of the original members are now into cars as well.
“A lot are built by the enthusiasts, but some with bigger cheque books are worth at least $150,000 or more.
“Sunday is our big open day when a lot of other entrants arrive on the day to show their cars.
“They are mainly chrome-bumper cars or tricked-up show vehicles.”
Sunday’s event runs from 10am to 1pm. Inquiries can be directed to Mr Field on 0428 289 502.
