A car came within inches of crashing into a record store in Melbourne's north in the early hours of Monday morning.

Police said the black sedan hit a fire hydrant before flipping onto its roof on Nicholson Street in Carlton North shortly before 3.30am.
The car came to a rest on the footpath in front of the Gold Mine Music Store near St Georges Road.
The 23-year-old female passenger suffered head injuries and was taken by ambulance to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition.
The 25-year-old male driver suffered minor cuts and was also taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition.
Police investigations are continuing.
