About 55 members of the McNamara family celebrated Christmas together at Lake Pertobe on Saturday in a reunion that jumps around Australia each year.
Some of the relatives travelled from as far as Western Australia for the family get-together, which was Kevin McNamara’s turn to host.
“It’s always good to catch up and this year we get to do it in Warrnambool,” Mr McNamara said. “The family is so big that we have it the week before Christmas so everyone can be together.
“There were three from Western Australia, one from New South Wales and the rest are spread over Victoria.”
Mr McNamara said Lake Pertobe was the perfect spot to cater for such a large group.
“It’s too big to have it at home and the council were great,” he said.
“They organised temporary power for us and made sure everything was clean before we got there.
“Some of the people who hadn’t been there were saying how great the facilities are.”
