Bookaar skipper Fraser Lucas finished unbeaten on 114 and his younger brother Eddie made 93 as the side entered the South West Cricket Christmas break celebrating a five-wicket win.
Heytesbury Rebels set 283 on day one — a total captain Travis Brown was content with but thought might be at risk on a fast Camperdown Showgrounds deck.
Brown was proved right.
Bookaar finished on 5-324 courtesy of the Lucas brothers’ digs and a 42-run cameo from Simon Baker.
The Lucas siblings combined for a 108-run third wicket stand.
Fraser Lucas’ ton was the fourth of his division one career and second this summer.
“It was pretty slow. I was having a fair bit of trouble getting myself in and it wasn’t until a few overs after lunch that I got going,” he said.
“At that stage I tried to get through the innings and focus on getting runs and from there I got to triple figures.”
The number four bat said Eddie was unlucky to fall short of a century.
“He did a lot of the early scoring and I guess we needed someone who was able to stick with him and build a partnership,” he said.
Fraser Lucas said Bookaar entered day two feeling well-placed to reel in the Rebels’ total.
“I had a fair bit of confidence knowing that in the two games we’d played on the ground previously we’d made good scores,” he said.
“We mirrored their innings and went into lunch in a similar spot.”
Cobden escaped with a four-run win against Terang.
It successfully defended 130.
Jackson Rock did the damage with 4-26 off 22.4 overs.
Pomborneit will take some much-needed confidence into the break after recording a 41-run win against Noorat.
Noorat’s Dean Abbott tried his hardest to steer his side home with an important 67 but Pomborneit had the answers, dismissing it for 166.
The Bulls made 4-145 in their second innings.
Simpson showed little resistance in its outright loss by an innings and 159 runs to reigning premier Mortlake.
The Tigers crumbled to be all out for 98 on day two after Cat Clinton Baker took 5-19 off a devastating 10-over spell.
Lachlan Wareham, who added 42 batting at number nine on day one, capped off a stunning game with 3-10. Mortlake enforced the follow-on and Simpson endured an uphill battle with Cats skipper Todd Lamont finishing with 5-25 and Baker 2-10 as the Tigers cobbled 52 runs together in their second dig.
