Trains have resumed running on the Upfield line after the service was suspended for a number of hours when a person was hit by a train near Coburg station.

As of 7.50pm all lines were running as normal.
In the wake of the incident, staff were providing ponchos to commuters caught in the rain at North Melbourne station. Metro arranged buses to replace trains on the Upfield line.
Delays were also experienced on the Glen Waverley and Frankston lines following cancellations.
It is believed the person has died after being struck.
Victoria Police would not provide any information about the incident.
