It’s part of a campaign to steer drivers to designated roadside bays rather than ad-hoc spots on grassed nature strips on Merri Crescent and Koroit Street.
After a period of grace, penalty notices are expected to be imposed from next week.
In the past few weeks the council has rolled out more than 100 all-day spaces on streets in the precinct and created more than 20 new two-hour bays.
Residents have also been issued with permits allowing them priority use of designated bays.
It follows years of rising frustrations by residents near the hospital over increasing numbers of cars illegally parked on nature strips in front of homes.
The council says its revised parking arrangement provide 200 free marked bays in the precinct within 400 metres walking distance of the hospital.
