Known by locals as the Strawberry Fete since 1925, the event is held in the grounds of the historic St John’s Anglican Church.

Organiser Kaye Dowie said serves of fresh local strawberries and cream were still a favourite with many attendees and jars of freshly-made strawberry jam would also be available.

Other stalls will feature home-baked cakes, biscuits and slices, sauce, pickles, jams and other bottled goods, a large selection of potted plants, craft and knitted garments, second-hand books, sweets and drinks, cosmetics, jewellery, old wares and collectibles.

Food on offer includes barbecue hamburgers and sausages, sandwiches, donuts and Devonshire teas.

People can try their luck on the spinning wheel and find some great bargains at the white elephant auction and children can enjoy a jumping castle, face-painting and lucky spot prizes from the fete clown. 

Viv Fry and friends will provide live music and the State Emergency Service and lace maker Gwen Williams will hold demonstrations.

The event will run on from 10.15am until 2pm.
