Earlier this month, police released images of the women who caught a taxi from Warrnambool to Port Fairy in early October and ran off without paying.
Senior Constable Chris Carr said images of the two women had been released in an effort to identify them.
He said the two women, aged in their early 20s, caught a taxi at the supervised taxi rank at Warrnambool's Gilles Street in the early hours of Saturday, October 4.
They were taken to Port Fairy's Elizabeth Street where they ran off without paying the $62 fare.
Senior Constable Carr said that within half-an-hour of the images being put on The Standard website, information was received by Port Fairy police, the women were contacted via Facebook and they then contacted the station.
The police officer thanked members of the public for their assistance in identifying the women, who he said had made admissions.
