Brian Moran organised the reunion of the class of 1971 and said it was a great weekend full of memories from the school yard and the past 43 years.
“We organised it for this year because most of us were turning 60, so it seemed like a good time to get together,” he said.
“It was a great weekend. We had a tour through the schools which brought back plenty of fond memories.
“We had 52 people come along which was great. We opened it up to everyone who was in the class, even if they didn’t stay through to the end.”
Mr Moran said it was decided to hold a joint reunion between St Ann’s and CBC because their class was the first where resources were shared between the schools regularly.
“We were the first year the girls would come down to CBC for science and the boys would go to St Ann’s for various classes,” Mr Moran said.
He said the reunion also acted as a fund-raiser for classmate Frank O’Shea, who is now a Christian Brother working in Nairobi. They raised more than $800 for the school he runs in the Kenyan capital.
“We had a great weekend. It was great to see so many old faces and catch up. There were plenty of stories told and memories shared,” he said.
