The region’s men’s golf clubs have previously been split into two districts, Corangamite and South Western. But from next year the regions will combine.
Corangamite District Golf Association secretary John Snowden said a combined team of boys would represent the region at the annual Victorian Junior Regions boy’s championship in Kyneton today and tomorrow.
The side will compete in division two — a section Corangamite finished second in last year. It also won the handicap category.
Snowden said five members from the Corangamite district and three from South Western would come together as a team today.
The team is: Daniel Kenna from East Framlingham, Matt Cameron, Chris Roberts (Port Fairy), Josh Anderson (Lismore), Kyle Herbertson (Portland), Jayden and Noah McLeod (Heywood) and Matthew Heard (Terang).
“We can have a good look at it this year and see how it goes,” Snowden said.
The boys each play 18 holes today and tomorrow.
