A magistrate has extended her sympathies to the family of pastry chef Renea Lau, whose body was discovered in Kings Domain.

Magistrate Amanda Chambers told Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday she wanted to extend her sincere condolences to the boyfriend and relatives of Ms Lau, who were in court.
Ms Lau's body was found just metres from St Kilda Road in the early hours of June 28.
Police allege the Chinese national was walking to her job in South Yarra when she was chased into the gardens and killed. Scott Allen Miller, 42, is charged with murdering Ms Lau.
He also faces two counts of rape. Mr Miller appeared via video link in court on Friday and is scheduled to return to court on January 15 for a one-day committal hearing. He was remanded in custody.
