Trotman has taken over from Nathan Adams in the top job as part of a reshuffle at the Warrnambool and District league club.
Adams stays on as football operations manager, working with senior coach Josh Parkinson and new reserves coach Jason Fowler.
Mortlake-based Fowler takes on the reserves role after spending time as a Hampden league junior representative coach.
Trotman, the former owner of the $2 Plus Shop in Liebig Street, said he was looking forward to taking on the role.
“In the past I’ve always been involved in footy. I’ve got a young fella who plays here now so I put my hand up to help,” he said.
“Nathan has put in a couple of years and done a real good job. I’m only new on the committee but everything looks like it’s in very good order.
“Most of the work is done for next year as far as signing up players, most coaches are appointed.”
Other members on the Cats’ committee include secretary Steph Mathew, vice-president Toby Holloway and treasurer Matt White.
Heidi Manson is the netball representative while Simon Angel, Alan Noone and Josh Monaghan have joined the committee.
“As long as we can keep a good family club going, that’s the main aim,” Trotman said.
