Country Fire Authority brigade units from Port Campbell, Princetown and Timboon had to wait for the 660kV current to be switched off before water could be directed onto the transformer to cool down burning oil.
Powercor was yesterday evening trying to find a replacement unit before supply to the gas plant could be turned back on again.
