EMERGENCY services were kept busy overnight Thursday trying to locate an ill Colac man camping with his elderly mother south of Rocklands Reservoir.

The man was eventually found by the police air wing late Thursday night and transported by ambulance to Hamilton early Friday morning in a non-life-threatening condition.
Hamilton police Constable Alisa Turner said the 48-year-old man suffered from a blood condition and had also had a heart attack about two weeks ago.
He was camping with his 85-year-old mother in the Red Rock Road area, south of the Rocklands Reservoir and north of Cavendish.
At 11am on Thursday the man began to feel unwell and lapsed into a semi-consciousness state.
He also had a temperature.
That lasted until 8pm, with no improvement, so the mother contacted the ambulance service.
Constable Turner said the elderly woman was unable to give emergency services an exact location, only Red Rock Road, and was unable to drive out as she did not know how to drive.
State Emergency Service volunteers, ambulance and police, including local officers, police search and rescue and the police air wing, initiated an extensive search.
The man was located by air at 11pm in an area between the Rocklands Reservoir and Cavendish.
Police, SES and ambulance members drove into the campsite, arriving at 1.43am.
Constable Turner said the man was assessed, required medical attention and was conveyed by ambulance to the Hamilton Base Hospital in a non-life-threatening condition.
She said the man and his elderly mother had gone for a break after he was recently ill.
"They were hard to locate but emergency services were able to find them, get in and the man got the medical attention he needed. It was a good result in the end," she said.
