A community day was staged at Panmure Primary School yesterday with parents, grandparents, cousins and friends taking part in a day of activities related to agriculture.
Pupils were encouraged to plant herb and vegetable seedlings in the school garden, rotating to indoor activities such as creating an elaborate mural.
Liberal splashes of colour were applied to a “Picasso Cow” in one of the classrooms, capping off several months of study into all things farm-related.
Panmure Primary School principal Mark Antonio said agriculture was a running theme in classroom activities as pupils studied the ins and outs of primary production.
Teacher Melissa Cumming said the pupils were keen to show their artistic and horticultural projects to their mothers, fathers and grandparents.
