About 50 people, many of them in work groups, rolled up for an inaugural early-morning fund-raiser at Reunion Cafe Bar Restaurant to help Relay For Life efforts.
Restaurant owner Tanya McGowan and staff member Erin Kumor, who both have personal links with cancer victims, organised the breakfast with help from local businesses.
They decorated the premises as part of the Paint The Town Purple initiative aimed at promoting the annual relay, which raised about $130,000 in Warrnambool earlier this year.
Several other district businesses have signed up for the purple theme.
Ms Kumor is part of the Cally Cruisers relay team which aims to raise $5000 for the next relay in February. She said the breakfast proceeds would go a long way to achieving the goal of boosting research into melanoma cancer.
